Ennis del Mar

Last Sunday I watched Angles and Demons. For someone who never read Dan Brown’s book, I found the movie is actually very entertaining. It was fast, unveiling, mystifying, revealing, and confusing (?); with a little bit of twist at the end. Oh saya memang sukakan kejutan. Haha.

Anyway, Ennis Del Mar is one of characters in Brokeback Mountain; a movie that I’ve been longed to watch since 2006. (I have always been interested to watching award-winning movies). Then only last week I finally have the opportunity to watch it, the uncut version. Hehe. The highlight would be the character of Ennis Del Mar of course. This so called gay-cowboy movie could have been appeared cheap in the hand of other directors but through Ang Lee’s melodramatic touch, this piece of tragic or rather odd love-story moved profoundly beautiful. The late Heath Ledger delivered a great depth of a confused, apprehensive, and bewildered man who ‘gave’ his love to a man (Jack Twist). He was actually bisexual since he got married and have two pretty kids, but apparently felt a lot more emotions towards Jack than his own wife, which then led to divorce. I mean, we do hear things like this every now and then, don't we? Men got married normally only to discover they are actually attracted to their own kind later, which stemmed all the conflicts afterwards.

Oh I was trying to understand this gay thing in different perspective (like how can you feel ‘things’ towards your own gender) but after the movie, I can say (and sort of understand) that love is unbounded, not just between a man and a woman (to westerners anyway). Erm, I did have a friend who was a (potential) gay but I have no idea how is he doing right now. I hope (and pray) he is not getting any ‘worse’.

Beliau Indian atau Arab oh saya sudah lupa, but the documentary tells about his journey finding his true self. I was astonishingly upset but that’s the thing bila berada di bumi asing. Macam-macam diusahakan untuk menambah kekeliruan terhadap Islam which annoy me so damn much.

Oh I was just writing my review on Brokeback Mountain tiba-tiba lari subjek tapi takpe, masih bawah topik yang sama. Hehe. Later I'll share other things regarding this matter. Until then.

Haha. Peminat novel Dan Brown pun ckp movienya terlalu compact tak hurai everything compared to the novel. But Angels and Demons are quite good. To the fans la.
